Grow whatever you like. BonsaiSim is yours to use, the trees you grow are yours, and they live on your device.
What you may not do is take the software apart and republish it as your own.
Who you are agreeing with
BonsaiSim is made and operated by Shining Muffin LLC. Using the website at bonsaisim.com or the BonsaiSim app means you accept what is written here.
What you may do
Use BonsaiSim for as long as you like, for anything you like, including sharing pictures and videos of the trees you grow — commercially or not. You do not owe us a credit, though we are glad when you give one.
What you may not do
- Republish, resell, or redistribute BonsaiSim itself, in whole or in part, as your own or under another name.
- Take the simulation code out of it and ship it inside something else.
- Use it to break the law, or to attack the service or the people using it.
The software, the artwork, the name and the simulation model remain the property of Shining Muffin LLC.
Your trees
Everything you grow is stored on your own device and never reaches us — see the privacy page. You own it. The other half of that is the part to take seriously: we cannot recover it. If you clear your browser data, switch devices, or delete the app, the tree is gone, and there is no copy anywhere for us to restore.
It is provided as it is
BonsaiSim is offered without warranty of any kind. It is a simulation of how a Japanese maple grows, built as faithfully as we can manage, but it is not horticultural advice and a real tree will not read it. We do not promise that the software is free of defects, that it will keep working on every device, or that it will remain available.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Shining Muffin LLC is not liable for any loss arising from using it — including the loss of a tree you were growing.
Things that are not ours
The site may link to services we do not run, such as Patreon or an email provider. Those have their own terms, and using them is between you and them.
Changes, and ending it
These terms may change; the date at the top says when they last did. We may stop offering BonsaiSim, or change what it does, at any time. You can stop using it at any time, and deleting the app or clearing the site's data ends everything on your side.
